In this day and age, everyone’s looking into high tech gadgets that would make their life easier, both in their professional and personal life. Whether we are talking apps, online calorie counters, food trackers and menu planners, health professionals are also keeping up to date with how they could incorporate their services to keep up with the fast paced, tech-crazed society we live in. Enter Online Nutrition Counseling…
Online Nutrition Counseling makes it possible for individuals to seek guidance from an accredited dietitian or nutritionist via Skype, email or phone to address a variety of nutrition related problems. Whether it is for weight loss or to simply get your health on track, online nutrition counseling is a convenient service for you to connect with a dietitian from the comfort of your own home or office, wherever you are. Make sure your dietitian or nutritionist is actually 1. A real person! 2. Holds the right qualifications!
My goal when it comes to nutrition counseling with my clients is not about dieting; it is about managing their special needs through a healthy approach to eating habits and to their overall lifestyle. Areas of nutritional management can include anything from weight loss to managing gastrointestinal disorders or even improving dietary habits for enhanced sports performance. As I’ve recently launched my online counseling service, here’s what you could expect:
From an Initial Consultation
This one-off 60-minute session involves discussing your current dietary habits including your health history and lifestyle patterns using assessment forms I will provide you with via email prior to the session. Summary points of what you can expect:
- Discussing your health history, dietary and lifestyle patterns including issues to be addressed and personal goals
- Receiving customised instructions and recommendations tailored to your needs
- Dietary handouts and information will be provided via email including a daily guide, sample meal plan and recipes
- Follow up to be organised upon request
From a Follow up Consultation
During this 30 minute session, we will discuss your progress and any challenges you may have encountered since your initial consultation. We can always reassess your goals and set new ones and I will be happy to provide you with any follow up nutrition education as required. Summary points of what you can expect:
