Nourish Your Run: How to EAT and BREATHE to run smart
April 27, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
Join Sandra Mikhail, Founder of Nutrition A-Z and Ultramarathon runner Christian Spangenberger for a workshop that will cover the fundamentals of running, which are commonly undermined. For the first part of the workshop, Sandra will walk you through nutrition essentials for distance running covering the following:
- Adapting nutrition to training phase
- Fueling essentials and hydration
- Need of supplementation
- Preventing gastrointestinal upset
We’ll then introduce you to the world of rhythmic breathing. What if there was a tool that would let you drift into a state of meditation while running? A tool that could help you to monitor yourself even without a watch, help you to avoid side stitches and even help in injury prevention? The key is rhythmic breathing. This field-tested, science-based breathing technique is an essential practice for Ultramarathon runner, Christian, during some of the
most beautiful ultra marathons and most challenging desert races on earth. His part of the workshop will help you assess your fitness and uncover what you are capable of in order to develop an excellent sense of pace.
The goal is to help you breathe smart, nourish your run, and love running for a lifetime!
